Director Bhardwaj says about the movie " This is the movie I am very much fond of, among all my other movies, since this movie reflects real characters and incidents that I came across during my college days. One of the characters, Rehman, which was based on my own experiences in my college days. Not only this, but all other characters were inspired from my college life. So that way I can say the movie'Alajadi' was a segment of my auto biography." In the Telugu film industry, this was the First movie depicting students lives and conflicts in a college. Music Director Vidya Saagar was introduced with this film.
